Virgil Abloh stoked the Air Jordan 1 flame with the unforgettable “The 10” edition by Off-White. Chris Gibbs doused it with butane with the Union LA collaboration. Undeniably among the most significant creative partners not only in Jordan, but in sneaker history, Gibbs is credited for raising the stakes for OG Air Jordan 1 collectors for his epic “Storm Blue” iteration, one of three versions of his storied design.
Prior to that collab the “Storm Blue” pair went by largely unnoticed. First returning in late 2016, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Storm Blue” saw lukewarm reception from Jumpman fans largely due to the higher demand for the core originals as well as the obscurity of this shade of blue. It wasn’t until Union LA brought it front and center in late 2018 that pairs of standard retro and OG 1985 began skyrocketing in price.
This upcoming Jordan Spiz’ike Low has taken notes, applying that infrequent shade of blue with the perfect package of pre-aged notes in Sail and Muslin. Varsity Red is applied to surrounding details for that classic Jumpman hit. These are basically just short of some yellow-orange stitching to give it that firm Union Los Angeles vibe.
These are beginning to hit Jordan retailers now for $165, so stay tuned for availability updates on our Jordan Release Dates page.
